Community Energy Scotland is an independent Scottish charity providing practical help for communities on green energy development. They provide free advice and support for renewable energy projects developed by community groups to benefit their community. This extends to non-profit distributing organisations such as social enterprises and housing associations. Community Energy Scotland is base in Dingwall, Ross-shire.

Community Energy Scotland are currently working with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde on the application of Smart Grid Solutions and demand management to enhance communities' ability to maximise efficient use of renewably produced energy.

This project is ongoing and being supported by the West of Scotland KTP Centre.
