I.D.E.A.S. have provided the Oil, Gas and Petro-Chemical industry with a centre of excellence for specialist engineering services since 1985. Their expertise, skills and experience are in verifying designs, assessing, monitoring and solving complex plant integrity problems, carrying out Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments, Remaining Life assessments (RLA) and Plant Life Extensions (PLE). Their Services apply for Design Concept through to end of Plant Life. I.D.E.A.S. are located in Glasgow.

I.D.E.A.S. are currently working with the Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering at the University of Strathclyde to develop a capability in non-destructive testing using acoustic emissions for incorporation into a service tool for integrity measurement.

This project is ongoing and being supported by the West of Scotland KTP Centre.
