My professional background crosses both academia and the private sector. While completing my postgraduate studies, I had the opportunity to study and conduct independent research in the Middle East and North Africa for six years. After teaching history in American universities, immigrating to the UK, and leaving academia, I pivoted to internal auditing and quality management with an advanced manufacturer in Southampton and a start-up in Aberdeen.

As a member of the Business Development team, I am eager to help bring together innovative businesses and academic specialists from our partner universities. I am inspired every day in my conversations with individuals and organisations who are actively pursuing creative solutions to significant problems or gaps in their respective sectors. I am always available to discuss the potential business and academic case for a KTP project.

Outside my work with the West of Scotland KTP Centre, I enjoy travelling with my wife and two children. I volunteer as a coach and the club president for an amateur freestyle wrestling club in North Lanarkshire. I am a recent convert to the joys of badminton and play as often as I can.
